Terms of use

Last updated: October 26, 2026

1. Operator and acceptance

Requester is operated by Olivier Bossel, Chemin des Préalpes 18, 1630 Bulle, Switzerland. By using the service, as a requester, a recipient or an account holder, you accept these terms. If you use Requester for an organisation, you confirm that you may bind it.

2. The service

Requester lets you request documents and answers by email. Recipients receive a personal link, answer from their browser without an account, and are reminded until they answer if you choose so. Files are scanned, then deleted automatically after a set period.

Features and limits depend on your plan, as described on the pricing page. We may improve, change or remove features over time.

3. Access and accounts

Access is verified through email: a one-time code, a sign-in link or Google sign-in. Anyone with access to your mailbox can access your requests, so keep it secure.

Accounts are personal. In an organisation, the owner and admins manage members and the shared plan, and remain responsible for their members' use of the service.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use Requester to:

  • send, collect or store illegal content, or content that infringes the rights of others;
  • upload malware or attempt to bypass the virus scan;
  • send spam, phishing or harassing messages, or request documents from people without a legitimate reason;
  • collect documents or personal data you have no right to collect;
  • circumvent plan limits, rate limits or security measures, or disrupt the service;
  • resell or rebrand the service without our written agreement.

We may remove content, block email addresses or suspend accounts that break these rules, without notice when needed to protect recipients or the service.

5. Your responsibilities as a requester

For the documents and data you collect through a request, you are the data controller: you decide what to request and why, and you must have a lawful basis to do so and inform the recipients where required. Requester processes this data on your behalf and on your instructions only. A data processing agreement is available on request.

6. Your content

You keep all rights to the messages and files you send or receive. You grant us only the rights needed to store, scan, transmit and delete them in order to provide the service. We never sell your content, use it for advertising or use it to train AI models.

Files are checked for viruses and their content is compared with their extension. Infected or disguised files are deleted and shown as rejected.

7. Retention and deletion

Answers are deleted automatically after the period of your plan, counted from the first download, and in any case at the end of the maximum retention period. Unanswered requests expire at the end of their answer window.

Files are never kept in backups. Once deleted, they cannot be recovered. Download what you need to keep before the deletion date: Requester is not an archiving service.

8. Plans and payment

Prices are shown in euros, Swiss francs or US dollars and charged in US dollars. Taxes are included where due. Payments are processed by Stripe.

  • Pro and Team subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled.
  • Team is billed per member, with a minimum number of members. Adding members or storage packs is billed prorated for the current period.
  • A Boost is a one-time payment that upgrades a single request.

If a payment fails, we may suspend paid features after a grace period. Requests already sent keep the limits they were created with.

9. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; paid features remain available until then.

Payments are non-refundable, including for partial periods, unused storage and Boosts already applied, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

10. Fair use

Each plan has limits: number of open requests, answer size, reminders and account storage. Storage packs raise the account storage. We may limit usage that clearly exceeds normal use of a plan or puts the service at risk, after contacting you when possible.

11. Changes to prices and terms

We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a price change applies to your running subscription; you can cancel before it takes effect. We may update these terms; material changes are announced by email or in the service. Continuing to use Requester after the effective date means you accept the new terms.

12. Availability

We do our best to keep Requester available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, updates or incidents may cause interruptions.

13. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Requester at any time and delete your account from your profile, once no subscription is active. Requests already sent then run until their normal deletion.

We may suspend or close access in case of a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or if required by law.

14. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is excluded except for intent and gross negligence. In particular, we are not liable for indirect damage, lost profit, or the loss of files after their deletion date. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event.

You are liable for the content you send or collect and for its lawful use, and you hold us harmless from third-party claims arising from it.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts of the canton of Fribourg (Switzerland) have exclusive jurisdiction. Consumers keep the protection granted by the mandatory law and courts of their country of residence.
