Documents your accountant needs for the year-end closing

Tips

  • Send bank statements as PDF exports from e-banking: they are easier to process than photos.
  • In Switzerland, accounting records must be kept for 10 years (Art. 958f CO).
  • Sole traders with turnover under CHF 500,000 may keep simplified accounts of income, expenses and assets.
  • Agree on a deadline with your client: Swiss companies must approve the accounts within six months of year end.
